Additional Details

A Spanish merchant lodges his complaint about a voyage gone wrong. He had sent a large cargo of trade goods by the British frigates York and Sesostris, bound for San Blas in Baja California. His agents unloaded the cargo there, but failed to proceed to the designated next stop at Guayaquil. Instead, they allegedly lingered for months, skimming profits from the cargo, with the excuse that revolutionary ferment in Ecuador made Guayaquil unsafe.

This pamphlet was issued without a title page; it begins "Una voz perfidamente divulgada entre el comercio de esta plaza en los dias 16 y 17 de este mes, ha corrido, y probablemente correrá por todo el comercio español." We trace only one institutional copy, at the University of Santiago.
